This Californian night sky sums up the mood around here
Dear friends,
I am not sure you have noticed yet, but I have been away for a little while now. Nothing has changed my end since I was last with you, well except, I have been really busy with school: extensive readings, assignments, and exams. As you may all know, the US., has already had elections, but like most of you, the anxiety, the confusion, and the gloom around here, is still rife; as we await the certification of states to be done, the Electoral College to complete I-donβt-know what, and the House to finish the count before announcing who the next President of the United States will be. I mean, most Americans probably have an idea who the next President will be, but nothing is certain yet. Confused about the whole process? Believe me, I am too, and thatβs why I anxiously await all of this uncertainty to be put to rest once and for all come January 20th.
At 41, I am still figuring out life: my place in society, my career path, a family of my own, any many others things. Heck, I am still trying to make friends in California; a place I moved to 3 years ago. I am currently in a Community College to make up for the many years I missed school while in Africa (Uganda). I intend to transfer to university next year and double major in History and English. I lead a very ordinary life; a normal day is spent doing school assignments, hiking, or reading. My favorite thing to do is walk! Short walks or long walks it does not matter. Walking allows me to think about things - anything! My love of walking comes from where I grew up, a small village in northeastern Uganda. It is still one of the most remotest areas I will ever know, and couldn't even start comparing what life is like there to say a place like California. Walking was all I did while growing up! I walked for miles to school, to church, to the shops, to the borehole to fetch water, and to the market. It was quite an adventure unlike any other - so you now understand my love for walking.

Such a difficult time in the US. I get the impression things are moving in the correct direction now, but you just never know. So much uncertainty for no good reason. January can’t come soon enough.
The Electoral College has certified Joe Biden as the next president of America. I hold off on saying “United States” until all states are united. Praying for a better 2021. Remain safe.
Right? Actually, Biden’s electoral win was made formal yesterday with all the 50 state’s electors voting for him. One more step to go, where the two houses (congress and senate) count the vote on the 6th of January, and sign his victory. It is quite a process, but nothing will change the outcome now going forward.
Sorry to bore you off with this stuff lol. Take care my dear friend, and have yourself a good week. π
I had noticed the absence of your presence and was about to launch a search party then you came visiting by my blog and I actually wanted to make the remark then I figured hmmm maybe it was I who hadn’t been to your blog. so was scanning out the dates lol
So now that president drama is over any change?
Democracy hey

I know what you mean, Angela. It is has been hard, really hard, the past couple of months. Keep breathing, and take care of you first. It will pass. Good luck with school and be well. π
Honestly, I am managing it as an individual; if some people don’t do the same, then it’s just unfortunate. No one needs to tell me to keep safe, you know what I mean? it is a responsibility everyone takes.
Now why am I impatient with anything to do with covid? lol.
Take care, Margaret!!
My dear Keith, you have been one of those people constantly on my mind. Thank you so much for your lovely words, and your mature take on what has occurred on the political stage lately, I am hopeful things will get better, they always do.
How have you been doing? I look forwards to reading what I have missed. Hey, catch up real soon, and take good care of yourself.
Hi Angela,
Funny, was thinking of you the other day that we we had missed one another.
Likewise been busy with little time for reader catch up.
Good to see your post and yes, roll on January 20th 2021 πΊπΈ π. Take care ππ»ββοΈ
Delighted to hear from you again, Angela, though not so happy about the cause for your recent absence.
May you draw at least some comfort from knowing both ordeals – classes and the election – hasten to conclusion. What’s the common reminder, you can endure anything as long as you know it’s coming to an end?
Like most of us, I have strong opinions about what happened early this month, though I won’t repeat them, as there already has been far too much anger lately. No need to raise anyone’s blood pressure. Nonetheless, I look forward to improvement, whenever that will happen. Interpret that as you’d like.
As for classes, it’s all part of improving your condition, and that’s commendable. Think about it, Angela, looking back on this time years from now you’ll wonder at how quickly it flew by you. The struggles and the studying ae temporary, whereas the distinction you’re acquiring is yours forever.
Glad you are doing well! As you are seeing the US has a corrupt political system just as most countries. I don’t believe Trump’s lies about the election being stolen as he did all he could to steal the election for months and get the outcome he desired. And the system itself has become irreparable. It is time for a new timeline and over-hauling world wide.
Wishing you the best in your studies, holidays and life!
I know, Kate, problem is that leaders and others in his party are actually encouraging him on, that’s the fear here, plus the non-straight-forward election processes here after the election is frightening to be honest. Biden’s lead will hold, no doubt, but Republicans are not helping us here. I have been anxious for way too long. Thought my anxiety would disappear after the elections, but that hasn’t been the case unfortunately. Oh well!
Be safe, honey!
Aww, Tom. Thank you so much for your kind words, the pressure is high here, and I don’t we have even reached the maximum yet. Too scary but hopeful it ends soon. I agree with you about cooperation with Europe, but for how long before we are back these uncertainties? On the bright side, Biden will be the beginning of normalcy, even if a little of it.
Thank you and stay safe my friend! π
I’m glad you’re here. Responsibilities in a pandemic are more difficult and require more time. Let your dreams come true, let your life go your way.
best regards
It’s good to read from you again. Here from Germany I watch these election tragedy from far. So it’s not to me to judge Trump voters. But I think, that Biden is the better president to cooperate with Europe and all the other countries. It’s good to hear, that you are fine. Exams can be exhausting. Wish you all the best and stay safe! Tom
Of course, I’ve missed reading your works! I’m sorry school is turning out to be busy. January will come by in a whirl. Looking forward to reading more here! Take care!
I have missed you Angela … but it’s extremely clear to the rest of the world that Biden has clearly won! That tRump has lawsuits blowing up in his face and just can’t admit defeat like a petulant child. So we have no doubt who won can’t believe your news is that fragmented, that so many believe his lies …. here are a links to today’s news
these are todays Australian news headlines but check with BBC, UK news … the rest of the world is hearing the same story that there is NO doubt Biden has won! but rump just refuses to leave …
